This figure describes the basic layout. The IMINDI interface consists of the main viewscreen (center left)--a mind or thought map window which can be enlarged. On the upper right are some organization, settings and help links, below them is the IMINDI Explore (search) box, and below that, three windows which indicate your collection: Think Tanks on the top, the Discussions or Notes within any selected Think Tank in the middle, and Like Minds (invited users) to any specified Think Tank at the bottom. Below the main viewscreen is another window that will show you recent activity and any resources attached to the Discussion showing above. These windows help define where you are in the network, and who is with you on your Discussions and in your Think Tanks. This is your home in IMINDI.

Main Viewscreen: Every time you log on to IMINDI, the main screen will show you your current Think Tanks in a Mind Map format. The resource box below will update the most recent actions that have occurred in your mind space, as well as recommendations for other Discussions and users that might interest you.

This version only supports traditional Mind Map radiant format visualization, but understand that you can link terms back to other branch terms to create loops. While you might not be able to see the loop in our current UI, rest assured that IMINDI has the loop recorded, and future versions will be able to show you the rich 3-D network.

Directly above the map area are several navigation functions: a small search box that will help you find an existing term in the map, zoom functions (+ and -), and a little magnifying glass icon which will show you a mini-map of the entire Discussion--simply click on the region you want to zoom to for fast navigation.

Also in the viewscreen area are the words "All, Why, What, Who, Where, When, and How". The default is All. Selecting one of the other link categories will restrict your view to links within that category. More on that later in the section about Thought Guide.

The main viewscreen also has several links across the top. In map mode, these are New Note, Share, List, and Thought Guide.

Clicking on Maximize above the map will expand the viewscreen to full screen to make it easier to work on larger Discussions.
